We are seeking a Test Automation Lead to join our growing U.S.-based team in Houston, TX.

Role: Test Architect

Location: Houston, TX

We are seeking experienced Automation Architects to lead enterprise automation initiatives for our client. The role will focus on defining scalable automation strategies, establishing modern automation frameworks, and driving quality engineering transformation across complex applications and agile delivery teams.

The ideal candidates should have strong hands-on expertise in modern automation technologies such as Playwright and Cypress, along with experience architecting scalable UI/API automation solutions integrated with CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead enterprise automation strategy across applications and agile PODs
• Design, develop, and enhance scalable automation frameworks using Playwright, Cypress, and related technologies
• Establish automation standards, reusable components, governance models, and best practices
• Lead automation implementation across UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing layers
• Drive shift-left testing and continuous testing enablement within CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with development, product, DevOps, and QE teams to improve quality maturity
• Mentor automation engineers and provide technical leadership across delivery teams
• Support automation roadmap planning, estimation, and solution architecture discussions
• Drive automation coverage improvements, execution optimization, and reporting visibility
• Evaluate and recommend tools/frameworks aligned with modernization and cloud-native architecture

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering and Test Automation
• Strong hands-on expertise in Playwright and Cypress (mandatory)
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch and scaling enterprise automation solutions
• Strong programming/scripting experience in JavaScript / TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with API automation and integration testing
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Strong understanding of Agile and modern SDLC practices
• Experience working with distributed teams and POD-based delivery models
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• Preferred experience in the Banking domain
