Job Description:
The Quality Engineering Lead is accountable for product quality outcomes end-to-end, embedding quality as a first-class engineering discipline within a product team. This role ensures that reliability, resilience, security, and customer experience are designed into each product while enabling rapid, safe delivery.
The Quality Engineering Lead partners equally with Product Management, Product Design, and Engineering to define what success, prevent defects, and continuously improve customer trust and system integrity.
Core Accountabilities
-Product Quality Outcomes
Own product level quality outcomes, including reliability, usability, performance, accessibility, and defect escape rates.
Define and operationalize quality OKRs aligned to product and business outcomes.
Ensure quality risks are visible, quantified, and actively managed not deferred.
-Quality Strategy & Engineering
Establish, Design, and implement the quality strategy for the product, including:
Test automation at all levels (unit, integration, contract, E2E)
Performance, scalability, and resilience testing
Security and compliance validation
Shift quality left into discovery, design, and development phases.
Ensure testability is a core architectural requirement.
-Product Team Partnership
Operate as a full partner within the Product Triad.
Participate in discovery to identify quality risks early through prototypes, experiments, and pre-mortems.
Influence product decisions by articulating quality tradeoffs with customer and business impact.
-Engineering Enablement & Standards
Define and enforce quality engineering standards, frameworks, and tooling.
Embed automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
Partner with Engineering Leads to improve design for observability, resilience, and failure isolation.
-Defect Prevention & Continuous Improvement
Lead root cause analysis for escaped defects and incidents.
Accountable to drive systemic improvements, not one off fixes.
Reduce manual testing dependency through automation and tooling leverage.
-Team Leadership & Talent Development
Build and lead a high-performing Quality Engineering capability.
Coach and lead by example other quality engineers to think like product engineers.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
-Stakeholder & Enterprise Alignment
Communicate quality health, risk, and trends to executives in outcome-oriented language.
Align product quality practices with enterprise security, risk, and compliance expectations.
Advocate for quality investments with clear ROI and risk-reduction framing.

Quality strategy, tooling, and automation approaches for the product.
Definition of quality gates and release readiness criteria.
Risk-based release recommendations.
Hiring and performance input for Quality Engineering roles.

-Strategic Product & Commercial Enablement Capabilities
Demonstrated ability to create and execute innovative, technology-led strategies that enable Customer and Commercial functions within a Fast-Moving Consumer Packaged Goods (FMCG) environment, including sales, marketing, customer service, and route-to-market operations.
Deep, hands-on expertise in full-stack engineering and Salesforce platform development, including modern front-end frameworks, API-driven back ends, cloud infrastructure, and Salesforce ecosystems (Sales, Service, Experience, and custom platform extensions), with an emphasis on scalable, secure, and performant solutions.
Extensive experience leading technology experimentation—from hypothesis and rapid prototyping through production deployment—delivering deployable product outputs that validate customer value, operational impact, and technical feasibility.
Proven track record of defining measurable business outcomes (e.g., revenue growth, cost reduction, cycle-time improvement, customer satisfaction, adoption, and productivity gains) and being directly accountable for achieving those outcomes through technology and product delivery.
Required Experience & Capabilities
Bachelor’s degree preferably in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience in the Product Operating Model.
8–12+ years in Quality Engineering, Test Engineering, or Software Engineering with strong quality leadership.
Proven success embedding quality in product-led, continuous delivery environments.
Deep expertise in test automation, CI/CD integration, and modern quality tooling.
Strong understanding of system architecture, distributed systems, and failure modes.
Experience influencing engineering and product decisions without direct authority.
