Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer (Python) to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications using Python as well as maintaining data flows and dashboards in PowerBI. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, efficient, and high-quality solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy applications and services using Python.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Optimize applications for maximum performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure software quality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications.
- Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and frameworks in Python and software engineering.
- Audit, transform, and clean data from Databases.
- Manage data connections in PowerBI.
- Adjust and publish PowerBI Dashboards to fit the needs of the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field such as Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in data engineering, data pipelines, or machine learning frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Background in DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation).
- Experience in Python development (1+ years preferred).
- Experience in PowerBI (1+ years preferred).
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience auditing data.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (React, Angular, Vue.js) is a plus.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong understanding of Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
