Sr Automation Test Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer with strong automation expertise in Playwright (TypeScript), solid manual testing experience, and practical application of GenAI tools.

This role owns quality across the SDLC, combining automation-first testing, hands-on functional and exploratory testing, and AI-assisted quality practices to deliver reliable, high-quality software.

🔴 3 Must-Haves

  1. Strong Functional Testing experience with hands-on use of GenAI tools

  2. Hands-on Automation experience using Playwright with TypeScript

  3. API Testing experience using Postman

Language Requirement: B1 level preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Own quality for assigned features and releases; act as a quality advocate.

  • Analyse requirements and user stories to define test scope, coverage, risks, and priorities.

  • Design and execute manual test cases:

    • Functional

    • Integration

    • Regression

    • Exploratory

    • UAT

  • Perform end-to-end business flow validation.

  • Manage the complete defect lifecycle (logging, triage, retesting, closure).

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation tests using Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript).

  • Automate UI, API, and end-to-end scenarios.

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Identify and prioritize automation candidates based on business risk and value.

  • Leverage GenAI tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.) to:

    • Generate and optimize test cases

    • Enhance exploratory testing

    • Accelerate automation development

    • Refactor and improve existing test scripts

  • Use Azure DevOps / Jira / ALM for test management, traceability, and reporting.

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Business, Development, and DevOps teams.

  • Work as a “Quality Buddy” with developers to validate functionality early in the lifecycle.

  • Support shift-left and shift-right testing practices and continuous quality improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in Software QA / Quality Engineering.

  • Strong foundation in:

    • Automation principles

    • Manual testing methodologies

    • Test design techniques

  • Hands-on experience in:

    • Requirements analysis

    • Test planning

    • Test case design & execution

    • Defect tracking & triage

  • Strong automation experience with Playwright.

  • Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript.

  • Experience with BDD concepts and Gherkin (Cucumber or similar).

  • Practical experience using GenAI tools in automation and/or manual testing.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps-aligned testing.

  • Experience with test management tools:

    • Azure DevOps

    • Jira (Zephyr/Xray)

    • Micro Focus ALM

  • API testing experience using Postman.

Good to Have

  • API contract testing or service virtualization exposure.

  • Accessibility testing awareness.

  • Performance testing awareness.

  • Experience mentoring junior QA/QE team members.
