About the Role
Qualitest is looking for an experienced Triage Engineer / Analyst to join our global delivery team supporting one of the world’s leading technology companies.
This is a key role responsible for managing, analysing, and streamlining large volumes of bugs and issue intake, ensuring clear documentation, accurate prioritisation, and timely resolution across distributed engineering teams.
You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, and QA stakeholders in multiple time zones, using your expertise in defect management tools and reporting to enhance product quality, reduce engineering workload, and accelerate delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities

Issue Intake & Validation: Receive, log, and review bug reports, feature requests, and support tickets from multiple channels. Reproduce and validate issues to ensure clear and complete records.

Prioritisation Support: Categorise and prioritise issues based on severity, impact, and urgency. Identify and merge duplicates to maintain an organised backlog.

Preliminary Investigation: Perform initial checks (e.g., reviewing logs, basic debugging steps) to provide data for senior engineers and speed up root cause analysis.

Progress Tracking: Monitor issue status, update progress, and follow up on open or blocked items to ensure timely attention.

Cross-Team Communication: Share accurate issue details and updates with Product, Engineering, and QA teams, ensuring clear and concise communication.

Tool & Process Support: Work with defect tracking tools and automation scripts (Google Apps Script, JavaScript, Python). Support AI-assisted triage activities under senior guidance.

Reporting Assistance: Track defect trends, severity breakdowns, and resolution timelines. Help maintain dashboards and produce regular reports.

Documentation: Contribute to knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and process documentation to support team efficiency and onboarding.
Requirements
Must-Have:

Hands-on experience with enterprise defect tracking tools (e.g., Buganizer, Jira, or similar).

Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript, or Google Apps Script).

Strong analytical skills to spot priorities, trends, and recurring issues.

Experience with reporting and data visualisation tools (Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar).

Understanding of Agile development workflows and SDLC best practices.

Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with globally distributed teams.
Nice-to-Have:

1–2 years’ experience in defect triage, quality engineering, or issue management in large-scale environments.

Familiarity with automation tools or AI-assisted triage techniques.

Exposure to cloud-based systems and related troubleshooting processes.

Basic understanding of QA methodologies and test automation.
