Frontend Engineer

About the Role

Qualitest is seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to join a high-performing delivery team supporting a strategic client engagement. This role focuses on building modern, scalable, and high-performance user interfaces using React.js, working within a fast-paced, collaborative Agile environment.

You will play a key role in developing user-facing features, translating design concepts into high-quality code, and contributing to reusable frontend architecture aligned with modern engineering and AI-enabled development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain modern user-facing applications using React.js

• Build reusable components and frontend libraries to support scalable development

• Translate wireframes and UI/UX designs into clean, maintainable, and high-quality code

• Optimize applications for maximum performance across browsers and devices

• Collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and backend engineers within Agile teams

• Implement effective state and data management solutions (e.g., Apollo)

• Contribute to frontend architecture decisions and engineering best practices

• Ensure code quality through version control, peer reviews, and continuous improvement

• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and AI-led development approaches

Essential Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ commercial experience developing frontend applications using React.js

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS

• Experience with state/data management libraries such as Apollo

• Proven experience building reusable and scalable frontend components

• Strong understanding of web performance optimisation techniques

• Experience working with Git or similar version control systems

• Solid understanding of modern web architectures and development trends

• Experience working within Agile delivery environments

• Exposure to AI-assisted or AI-led development practices

Nice to Have

• Experience working within enterprise-scale or client-facing delivery environments

• Knowledge of modern frontend testing approaches

• Experience contributing to shared component libraries or design systems
