Scrum Master

Qualitest is seeking a results-driven Scrum Master to join our team on-site in Mexico City.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled facilitator with a proven track record of guiding agile development teams, managing project timelines, and maintaining high client satisfaction.

This role is crucial for ensuring team efficiency, removing impediments, and driving continuous improvement in our development processes.

Responsibilities:

• The Scrum Master will serve as the Agile process authority for the team, focusing on maximizing team velocity and project value delivery:
• Agile and Scrum Leadership:
• Lead and facilitate Agile teams using the Scrum framework, including organizing and running all Scrum ceremonies (e.g., Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives).
• Impediment Management: Proactively identify, communicate, and eliminate roadblocks or blockers, and coach the team to resolve impediments internally, ensuring continuous flow of work.
• Project Oversight: Monitor project timelines, progress, and capacity, using key project metrics to report status and forecast completion dates.
• Risk Management: Promptly identify, communicate, and escalate risks to stakeholders and management.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage key stakeholders effectively to align expectations, provide transparent status updates, and maintain high client satisfaction through proactive communication.
• Scope and Backlog Control: Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to control project scope, manage and refine the product backlog, and ensure user stories are clear, concise, and ready for development.
• Team Development & Coaching: Coach and mentor teams and individuals on Agile principles and Scrum best practices to enhance overall team maturity and performance.
• Active Participation: Participate actively in daily team activities and project tasks to maintain a deep understanding of ongoing work and challenges.

Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Project Manager in a technical environment.
• Agile Expertise: Solid, practical understanding of both Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and the ability to differentiate and apply principles from Waterfall approaches when necessary.
• Ownership and Collaboration: Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and a highly collaborative mindset.
• Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, and proven mentoring capabilities.
• Adaptability: Proven adaptability and focus when operating in dynamic, fast-paced environments with potential distractions.
• Decision Making: Highly skilled in analytical thinking and quick decision-making under pressure.
• Agile Success: Proven track record of success facilitating teams using Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification is highly desirable.
• Experience with Jira or similar Agile lifecycle management tools.
