Prompt Engineering Team Lead

Qualitest is looking for Team Leader for Bilingual Engineers on-site in Mexico City!

You will be part of a team of QA engineers, developers, pre-sales, and project managers to help optimize software for certain locales and languages to finally deliver the right product in the locale.

We are looking for an experienced and empathetic Team Lead to manage, mentor, and develop a talented group of Language Specialists. You will be responsible for the team's performance, growth, and well-being, fostering an environment where individuals can thrive and contribute to our critical AI projects. Your focus will be on people leadership and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Lead & Develop People: Directly manage a team of Language Specialists, including conducting regular performance reviews, facilitating career development conversations, and creating development plans.
• Performance Management: Address performance issues proactively, implement Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) when necessary, and manage team accountability.
• Hiring & Onboarding: Lead the hiring process for new team members, from interviewing to successful onboarding.
• Team Operations: Oversee daily team operations, manage workload distribution, and ensure project deadlines are met.
• Compensation & Recognition: Handle compensation discussions in line with company policies and ensure team members are recognized for their contributions.
• Foster Team Culture: Cultivate a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.
• Collaboration: Work with Quality Leads, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to align team efforts with broader goals.
• Handle Escalations: Act as a point of escalation for team members and help resolve issues.
• (If applicable) Participate in termination processes when required, following company guidelines.

Good to have:

• Experience leading teams in a tech, AI, data operations, or language services environment.
• Familiarity with the type of work Language Specialists do (e.g., data analysis, linguistic evaluation, quality control for AI).
• Experience managing remote or distributed teams (if applicable).
• Excellent understanding of project management principles.
• An understanding of the importance of critical thinking and innovation, and how to foster these in a team.
