#19998 - Automation Test Engineer

Qualitest is looking for a skilled and motivated Automation Test Lead Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, mid-level automation tester with a strong passion for quality and a proven ability to quickly adapt to new applications and technologies. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality software products by developing, executing, and leading automated testing efforts, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for software applications to identify defects and ensure robust quality standards.
• Perform both manual and automated testing, validating software against User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and technical specifications.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; verify fixes through rigorous retesting.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and project managers to clarify requirements and resolve issues efficiently.
• Utilize SQL queries for backend validation and data-driven testing to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Lead regression testing efforts to confirm that software updates do not impact existing functionality.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement) to provide testing insights and help refine User Stories.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and best practices.
• Quickly ramp up on business application knowledge to effectively design relevant test cases.
• Identify edge cases beyond acceptance criteria to enhance test coverage and uncover hidden issues.
• Manage test data creation, modification, and validation to support automated and manual tests.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior testers, promoting best practices in automation.

Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in automation testing or similar roles.
• Strong expertise with Playwright automation framework.
• Deep understanding of software testing methodologies, automation best practices, and Agile development processes.
• Solid analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proven ability to be a hands-on contributor and lead within the testing team.

Preferred:

• Experience with backend and data-driven testing using SQL.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Passion for quality and continuous improvement in testing approaches.
