We are looking for a Technical Lead – Radio & Communications to join a Radio & Communications division and lead the development of advanced communication systems.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership for the design, development, integration, and delivery of complex communication solutions involving digital signal processing, embedded systems, modem technologies, and radio communications. You will be responsible for defining technical direction, guiding engineering teams, making architectural decisions, and ensuring the successful execution of projects from concept through deployment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and architecture of advanced radio and communication systems.
- Define system-level solutions involving DSPs, ARM-based processors, FPGAs, RF subsystems, and communication protocols.
- Drive the development and optimization of DSP firmware, modem algorithms, and real-time embedded software.
- Establish technical roadmaps, development strategies, and engineering best practices.
- Review system requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Lead system integration, validation, performance optimization, and troubleshooting activities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers across multiple experience levels.
- Conduct design reviews, architecture reviews, and technical risk assessments.
- Collaborate closely with Systems, RF, FPGA, Hardware, Software, and Product teams to ensure alignment on technical objectives.
- Support project planning, effort estimation, and technical decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to development processes, quality, and engineering efficiency.
- Represent the engineering team in technical discussions with internal stakeholders and external partners when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in digital communications, DSP firmware development, embedded systems, or related domains.
- Extensive experience developing DSP firmware on TI and/or Analog Devices platforms.
- Strong expertise with ARM architectures, including Cortex-R5, Cortex-A53, and modern SoC platforms.
- Deep knowledge of real-time embedded programming in C and DSP optimization techniques.
- Strong background in analog and digital communication systems.
- Proven experience designing and delivering modem systems and communication algorithms.
- Extensive experience integrating complex systems involving DSPs, FPGAs, processors, and RF subsystems.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols, protocol stacks, and system-level architectures.
- Proficiency with simulation, modeling, and analysis tools such as MATLAB.
- Demonstrated experience defining technical architecture and leading engineering teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in telecommunications, defense, aerospace, or mission-critical communication environments.
- Knowledge of software-defined radio (SDR) technologies and wireless communication standards.
- Experience with FPGA development and hardware acceleration architectures.
- Familiarity with RF system design, testing, and validation methodologies.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and technical project leadership.
- Exposure to system certification, compliance, or safety-critical development processes.
