This role focuses on managing a controls program within the organization. The position involves supporting engineering and product teams to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, program management, tracking progress, and creating compliance documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to process and control owners on how to design effective controls that meet regulatory, policy, and operational requirements, ensuring that the controls are proportionate to the identified risks
- Effectively collaborate, communicate, educate and influence policy, process and control owners throughout Google and at different levels to improve processes and controls to mitigate compliance risks
- Support engineering and product teams, distilling engineering solutions to regulatory obligations.
- Identify control gaps and design sound and balanced recommendations to improve compliance in partnership with management and risk partners.
- Monitor and validate completion of business mitigation plans
- Independent program management with ensuring project objectives are met.
- Tracking and reporting of end-to-end compliance progress and escalation of emerging risks.
- Create controls or standards documentation to support compliance obligation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 7 years of experience working in an audit or compliance role, assessing risks, testing controls and recommending process and controls improvements using industry best practices
- Experienced in risk management, audit or compliance programs in technology organizations
- Experienced in identifying and assessing risks and designing and testing controls
- Experienced in developing risk, control and/or compliance frameworks
- Ability to navigate through ambiguity, manage and coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the process and delivering on commitments
- Ability and willingness to take initiative to address problems and make continuous process improvements
- Leadership skills (ability to take charge, confidence to interact with all levels, set objectives, drive results, influence and a team player) and excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide variety of departments
- Ability to work with teams cross-functionally and cross-regionally
- Governance, regulatory, and compliance management experience
- Familiarity with industry-accepted risk and compliance policies and frameworks
Preferred:
- CCEP/ RIMS-CRMP or related certification
