We are looking for a Mid-Level Engineer (FPGA) to join a Radio & Communications division and contribute to the design and development of advanced communication systems. This role focuses on FPGA-based modem implementation, combining digital design, signal processing, and embedded system integration in high-performance, real-time environments.
This position is suited for an engineer with solid hands-on experience in FPGA development and a strong understanding of modem architectures and digital communications.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize FPGA-based modem components and signal processing blocks.
- Develop and maintain RTL code using VHDL (or Verilog where applicable).
- Perform RTL design, simulation, debugging, and verification of FPGA designs.
- Contribute to system-level integration of FPGA with embedded platforms (DSP/GPP/SoC).
- Implement and validate digital communication algorithms in hardware.
- Collaborate with system architects and RF/digital teams to refine modem performance and architecture.
- Analyze system performance and optimize for latency, throughput, and resource utilization.
- Support integration and testing in lab environments, including hardware debugging.
- Write technical documentation for designs, test plans, and verification results.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in FPGA/RTL development.
- Strong proficiency in VHDL (or Verilog) for FPGA design.
- Experience with FPGA development flows (preferably Xilinx tools).
- Solid understanding of digital signal processing and communication systems.
- Proven experience with modem or wireless communication system development.
- Experience with RTL simulation, testbenches, and debugging tools.
- Familiarity with embedded system integration (FPGA + DSP/GPP/SoC).
- Working knowledge of MATLAB or similar tools for algorithm modeling and validation.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional engineering teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with high-speed or real-time communication systems.
- Exposure to SoC-based FPGA architectures (e.g., Zynq or similar).
- Understanding of RF front-end interaction with digital baseband systems.
- Experience optimizing FPGA designs for performance and resource efficiency.
- Familiarity with system-level modeling and fixed-point design considerations.
