About the Role:We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer who can design, implement, and drive a robust test automation strategy. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Selenium-based frameworks and recent, hands-on expertise with Playwright and TypeScript. This role involves leading a team, shaping the automation vision, and ensuring high-quality releases by leveraging modern automation tools and practices.Three Must-Haves:Recent hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript (2+ years).Strong expertise in Selenium WebDriver and advanced automation framework design.Proven leadership experience in leading test automation teams and delivering scalable automation solutions.Key Responsibilities:Automation Strategy & Framework DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks with Playwright (TypeScript) and Selenium.Establish and enforce automation best practices and coding standards.Modernize legacy frameworks to support current and future business needs.Test Planning & ExecutionCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation strategy, scope, and test coverage.Develop and execute automated test suites for regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.Leadership & MentorshipLead, mentor, and upskill automation engineers.Conduct peer code reviews and maintain high code quality standards.Guide the team in troubleshooting complex technical issues.Stakeholder ManagementPartner with product owners, developers, and project managers to align testing with business priorities.Provide detailed reports and metrics to track automation progress and ROI.Innovation & Process ImprovementContinuously evaluate emerging tools and technologies to optimize automation.Promote Agile and DevOps-driven testing practices for faster delivery cycles.Required Skills & Qualifications:8+ years of experience in software test automation.2+ years of recent, hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.Strong command over Selenium WebDriver with Java or C#.Deep understanding of automation frameworks, patterns, and design principles.Solid experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.Strong API automation knowledge using Playwright API, Postman, or RestAssured.Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Nice to Have:Cloud-based testing experience (e.g., AWS, Azure, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).BDD experience using Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar frameworks.Performance testing exposure with tools like JMeter or Gatling.Soft Skills:Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead distributed teams.Strategic thinking with a focus on quality and delivery excellence.Collaborative mindset with problem-solving abilities.
